Our School History

May 15, 2015

On January 6th, 1907 in the city of Rome, Dr. Maria Montessori began her career as an educator of children. On a different continent a century later, this 100 year old tradition is carried on by The Mississauga Children Montessori School. Established by a Montessori veteran – this school is the result of a longing to give something back to the community. Having owned and operated larger schools in the Richmond Hill area The Mississauga Children Montessori School is a step back to Montessori Roots.

Caring, qualified Montessori teachers deliver a curriculum derived to give children the skills and motivation they need to excel within our increasingly competitive education system. An accelerated academic program – made up of math, language, culture, music, art and daily French lessons – are balanced with Maria Montessori’s ideal that children learn manners, grace, respect of self and also that they become acquainted with their environment. Our daily curriculum is supplemented with educational field trips, planned visitors as well as an active physical education program.

Safety of the children is one of our school’s main concerns. Playgrounds are well supervised by our teachers and entrances to the building are closely monitored at all times, providing the safest environment that we can possibly offer.

Our goal has been to create the safest and most productive learning environment possible, while adhering to the time tested principles of Maria Montessori. The trust and confidence we have gained from our Parents and Students is an indicator that we have achieved our mark.

To cater to the needs of our working Parents – The School is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and we offer Before and After School Programs.

Our office staff at The Mississauga Children Montessori School are always happy to answer any of the questions or concerns you might have. Feel free to give us a call to make an appointment or Contact Us and we will respond to your inquiries promptly.
